Medical Oncology:

As a part of the team at Buckl, we were asked to replicate and improve upon an existing Oncology Suite at another site. We borrowed some successful elements from that space, but altered them to suit the different location, and to incorporate a new set of standards.
The existing suite used P-Lam clad panels to accent the nurse charting stations. We utilized this feature, with added accent lighting, at key areas of the new space to provide visual cues to patients where they could locate staff. We used them to highlight the Check-In & Nurse Charting desks and at handwash sinks along the infusion bay corridor to help break up the long corridor.
We modeled the space using Revit to provide construction documents and renderings. I produced the elevations, sections, and details for all specialty millwork. I lead the selection of finishes from the enterprise standards, and supervised the production of the ceiling plan, floor and wall finish plans and finish legends.
I created Renderings and Presentation Documents, led Client finish presentation meetings and participated in Schematic Design and Design Development meetings.
Design Challenge: Blending the building standards, with that of the previous location’s, as well as a whole new set of enterprise standards.

Cath Lab:

As a part of the team at Buckl, I modeled the space using Revit to provide construction documents for the client. I produced the Enlarged Plan, Elevations, Sections, and Details for all specialty millwork.
I led Client finish presentation meetings.
Design Challenge: Selecting a palette that coordinated with that of the adjoining ETR space.

Labor & Delivery:

In a previous phase, the Postpartum rooms were relocated into a vacated suite. Four of the previous postpartum rooms were renovated to create two new Labor and Delivery Tub Rooms located within the existing Labor and Delivery Suite. Four of the other postpartum rooms were renovated to create a new documentation area, medication safety room, and to provide a staff toilet within closer proximity. The finishes selected blend the new standard finishes with the existing finishes in the suite.

Infusion Center:

As a part of the team at Buckl, I oversaw the modeling in Revit to provide construction documents for the client. I oversaw the production of the Enlarged Plan, Elevations, Sections, Finish Plans, and Details for all specialty millwork.
I led Client finish presentation meetings.
Design Challenge: Selecting a palette that coordinated with that of the rest of the building while creating a soothing, comfortable space for Patients and Staff.

Maternity:
As a part of the team at Buckl, I modeled the space using Revit to provide construction documents for the client. I produced the elevations, sections, and details for all specialty casework. I selected and coordinated finishes for use in the existing space, produced the ceiling plan, floor, and wall finish documents.
I led Client finish presentation meetings and participated in Schematic Design and Design Development meetings.
Design Challenge: At one time planned as a full renovation, we reduced the scope of this project to cosmetic upgrade only. The challenge, besides having to revert the Revit model back to existing conditions, was to blend the new palette with some of the elements which were to remain.

Cardiac Care Unit:
As a part of the team at Buckl, and partnered with Francis Cauffman for the Core and Shell, I produced the elevations, sections, and details for all specialty millwork. I produced the floor pattern plans to mimic the existing floor patterns in levels below, as well as wall finish plans, furniture plans and specifications, and provided the renderings and finish presentations.

Pediatric ICU:
As a part of the team at Buckl, I participated in design development meetings and modeled the space using Revit to provide renderings for the client. I produced the elevations, sections, and details for all specialty casework, as well as documented the finish legends and schedules the finish presentation and the floor pattern plans using AutoCAD.
During Construction Administration, I reviewed all finish submittals provided art consulting to coordinate framed art, mural wall coverings, and backlit art panels.
Design Challenge: Client expressed a need to create a calming and soothing environment that was child-friendly, but ageless. We were also challenged to coordinate with an existing 5 color palette to tie in the existing adjacent elevator lobby. While using the same hues, we softened the colors to make the spaces more restful.

Pediatric Outpatient:
As a part of the team at Buckl, I modeled the space using Revit to provide renderings for the client. I produced the elevations, sections, and details for all specialty casework. I assisted in the selection of furniture and produced the furniture specification.
I participated in all Job meetings and provided Construction Administration.
Design Challenge: Client expressed a need to attract Visitors’ attention to the Check-In stations to avoid patients sitting in the Waiting Room for long periods of time without being registered.
Floor finish pattern, ceiling pattern with accent lighting, and custom boldly colored check-in kiosks were designed to draw attention.
A custom designed digitally printed wall covering was created to ‘point’ the visitor in the right direction.
