Experience:

NCIDQ certified Interior Designer with a Masters in Interior Architecture + Design I obtained at Drexel University.  I am an Interior Designer in the healthcare segment, and have worked previously in the education and corporate segments.  During my career, I have surveyed buildings, developed construction documents, selected finishes, prepared presentation documents, held and participated in client meetings, and presented design concepts to clients.

I've worked on two large high school renovation projects: a 245,000 Sq. Ft. and a 150,000 Sq. Ft. project, as well as smaller projects, including the interior renovation of a community library for which I provided construction administration.  I worked on the 33,000 sq. ft. renovation of a former office building into a pediatric outpatient center.  I documented and provided construction administration for the renovation of a 15 bed pediatric intensive care unit with an auxiliary pharmacy and administrative spaces. I documented and provided construction administration for the two-story addition of a 70 bed cardiovascular specialty unit.

Previously, I have been a consulting designer working with several Interior Designers, on projects that range from small to very large in both residential, assisted living, and commercial spaces.  Projects have ranged from the renovation of an existing powder room to an accessible bathroom for aging in place, to a 125,000 sq. ft. headquarters relocation.  I’ve provided CAD drafting, 3D modeling and rendering services, material selection, FF+E, and project management.  I was a residential kitchen & bath designer for 10 years before returning to school to further my education.

Influence:

I am influenced by art and art history, architecture and architectural history, and cultural globalization.  I am influenced by the Modern art movement especially in the Color-field, abstract expressionism, post-painterly abstraction, de stijl, soft cubism, op art and pop art styles.

My work is informed by modern architectural styles but borrows patterns and motifs from other times and other cultures.  I enjoy pattern-making and appreciate how motifs can suggest an idea, communicate a specific time or cultural reference, and inspire movement or repose.
